The Sandcastle annual trip to NAB 2013 in Las Vegas was a huge hit! Dalj and Michael got a little sun, attended NAB parties, and got a chance to check out some really cool gadgets. 4k was everywhere this year! Many companies had a 4K (or better) camera available for filmmakers to learn about. Two of the biggest highlights for us included the RED clean room and the new MOVI handheld stabilizer. We got to see some RED technicians putting together the new RED Dragon cameras in a clean room! 6k at 100fps with 15.5 stops of dynamic range! The MOVI handheld stabilizer was cool to see in action. The range of shots it’s capable of capturing is truly amazing. The only downside is the price. 🙁 It costs $15,000!
